Expression of Interest are invited for Specialized Consultancy in Green Finance The consultant will perform the following activities: 1. Provide the Issue Brief "Financing the New Economy for Brazil and the Brazilian Amazon" which should include a literature review and economic indicators related to: a. green financing in Brazil and in the world; b. the role of public and private banks, fintech, credit unions, and national and international funds in green finance; c. the opportunities and challenges of access posed to developing countries and particularly to Brazil and the Amazon; d. alternative sources of financing the transition to a low carbon economy (e.g: payment for environmental services, green Agribusiness Receivable Certificates, carbon market, green bonds, debentures, etc). 2. Lead the organization of a green finance database to support the ongoing studies at WRI in the New Economy for the Brazilian Amazon (NEBA) and New Economy for Brazil (NEB) projects; 3. Organize and lead, along with WRI Brasil-s climate team, the seminar on the "Private and Public Banks and green credit in Brazil, focused on the Amazon: trends and public policies"; 4. Provide, in close collaboration with WRI Brasil, the Finance Chapter in the New Economy for the Brazilian Amazon Final Report 5. Organize a working group with key partners from the private, public and financial sectors to advise and support the research effort. 6. Gather a group of relevant institutional actors to get involved in the process. Deadline and Remuneration: The consultant's dedication to project activities is expected to take approximately 40 hours per week between February 14 and May 31, 2022. The consultant will be compensated monthly and in accordance with market standards, paid upon approval of the activities- reports. The contract may be extended, upon WRI Brasil-s and the consultant-s interest.
